Varda Polak-Sahm is a seventh-generation Jerusalemite, the author of three books, and an internationally known photographer and researcher of folklore.

​

Varda’s photojournalistic work was presented for many years in several Newspapers and Magazines around the world.

​

Collection of her photography project about the renovations of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem was given by Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin to King Hussein of Jordan as a gift for the Peace Agreements between the two countries. 

​

She is the author of  "The House of Secrets, The Hidden World of the Mikveh" (Jewish Ritual Bath) and "By Bread Alone, Jerusalem - Crossroad of Symbols", which was presented by the President of Israel to Pope Benedict XVI in the Vatican.

​

She was curator of the Photo Exhibition "The Barefoot Photographers of Tilonia" (Rajastan, India) shown at Expo 2000 (Hannover), at UNESCO (Paris) and at the Brunei Gallery (London).

​

In 2013 Varda became licensed as a tour guide by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
